career and success

a very inspiring and eye-opening article, for those who are struggling in their work and finding their way to success, taken from Career Magazine

One in four workers is dissatisfied with their current job, according to the recent “Plans for 2004” survey by CareerBuilder.com. In any conversation or gathering, the topic tends to lean or end up towards our jobs. People love discussing the work that they do and finding out about others. We identify ourselves to the work that we do. Take some time to really listen and you will hear the dissatisfaction that is in the workplace. Even careers that come in a well-wrapped package of excellent salaries, benefits and privileges are not an exception at all. How and where do you start your search for a career? Whether you are fresh from training or coming back from a break in your working life, I have outlined a simple way of getting there:

Your Interests. What is it that really motivates you? What are you passionate about? Where do you get that driving force to overcome any obstacles that working life fires your way? I always say to clients to take the time to re-assess their life and work carefully. The first place to look is where your interests lie. Recall a time in your life since childhood where you have felt that strong passion flowing through you. What are you really interested in? What makes the butterflies in your belly fly all over or make your heart beat faster? What kind of work will get you out of bed every morning feeling refreshed from yesterday and ready to face another day in today’s battlefield of work?

A colleague had shared with me this story of a successful client who said to her that the only thing that seems to interest him when he was in school was the lunch break. Why? It is the only time where he could socialize with others and really connect with people. Assessing his situation when he was in the process of finding a career path, he held that thought dearly in his mind and came up with being an entrepreneur in financial advising. This person is way ahead of his time now building an empire that came from his interest in socializing and relating with people. He figured it out himself that with his strong interest in making a difference in a person’s life plus his deep desire in financial advising, he had found the path where he would like to go.

Your Beliefs and Values. A salesman who has over 25 years of experience and was laid off due to downsizing once said to me that as long as he believes in the product or service himself, he could definitely sell it! He also mentioned that the last thing he would like to do five days a week is to market something that doesn’t work and will only waste the consumer’s money. Isn’t this a formula for success? Put yourself in your clients’ shoes and ask yourself if you have really done a great job. If you value honesty, you have to practice it first and be able to give it to others in what you do.

Your Personality. Know thy self - another formula for success. There is an abundance of career assessments and services out in the market that one can avail of to get to know one’s self better. These tools whether self scoring or administered by a qualified professional will be most effective with the person’s knowledge of himself. They are there to guide and make you think outside the box. If you cannot do repetitive tasks over and over again then, working as an assembler of car parts will not be a good match for you. Recognizing where your strengths and weaknesses lie and finding a place where you could utilize these strengths to benefit the company and improving the weaknesses sounds like a good plan.
Dare to Take Risks. Risks taken after sufficient researching are calculated risks that would yield positive outcomes. Most of us get too comfortable of our existing situations even if we know very well that they are redundant or worse, obsolete. I could understand how change could generate fears of the unknown and of the unexpected. Life without change does not open doors to more or better opportunities. With our current business and technology moving so rapidly forward, how can we stick to old ways that do not work? This is why we have to undergo career and professional upgrading – to keep up with the flow of things instead of being left out. The world of work is now a life long learning field. It will require a lot of risk taking, letting go of things that do not work and being versatile – wearing different hats/multi-tasking.

Your Vision, Your Map. Through all these career searching or career change, never lose track of your end result. Write them down. Sound corny? Anybody who wants to invest their most valued time and effort into achieving their goals will not go in there without a plan. Why do you think builders and architects work on their blueprints first? You don’t put up the walls of a house without laying a strong base foundation first, right? Your vision is your guide, your reminder and your map. Also, dare to dream! Dreaming brings out the creativity in us. Creativity puts the glow and uniqueness to our work. It’s the one that sets us apart and adds colour to our achievements. Dreaming without doing achieves nothing. Make a list of things to do, do them (this is the most important step – to really do it!) and go back and experience the joy of putting a check mark beside the things you have accomplished.

Lastly, Take Ownership. As an adult job seeker, your time is up in pointing fingers at other people and putting the blame on them for your failures. You need to stop running and avoiding the truth! Face the facts, support your decision with important research and consult qualified people. I interviewed at least four people in my field of work in person before investing in a course that turned my career and life around. Coming to Canada as an immigrant and moving from one job to the other just to pay the bills, I lost that drive to excel and love what I do. I felt that I have turned into a robot programmed to do the same things over and over again. I was caught in the “Rat Race” of life and didn’t know how to get out. I made the decision to pursue a career that will revive me, make me look forward to coming to work everyday and live my passion of making a difference in other people’s lives. It wasn’t an easy road, there were quite a number of bumpy rides but that burning desire inside me carried me through it and made me appreciate the meaning of the work I do.

You Took My Heart Away

Lyrics taken from the album "Blue Night "

You Took My Heart Away

(Music and words: Jascha Richter)

Staring at the moon so blue
Turning all my thoughts to you
I was without hopes or dreams
I tried to dull an inner scream but you
saw me through

Walking on a path of air
See your faces everywhere
As you melt this heart of stone
you take my hand to guide me home and now
I'm in love

Chorus: You took my heart away
when my whole world was gray
You gave me everything
and a little bit more
And when it's cold at night
and you sleep by my side
you become the meaning of my life

Living in a world so cold
you are there to warm my soul
You came to mend a broken heart
You gave my life a brand new start and now
I'm in love

Chorus:
You took...

Holding your hand
I won't fear tomorrow
Here were we stand
we'll never be alone

Ten Years Ago:
Third year college. Already used to having free-sched. Took one subject advance. Very eager to graduate, have a job and earn my own money.

Five years ago: I accepted my first contractual job in an agency. Tired of windows application programming, I self-studied web programming to become a web programmer. Was a regular visitor of jobstreet

Two years ago: I was back in Ortigas, and back to my former agency for a contractual job in a bank. Looking for a regular job.

One year ago: I was hoping to be a regular employee in one of my contractual clients. I was on the process of moving on from a failed relationship. Fortunately, my best buddy went back home from Canada. Thanks to him, and to God, I had my life back.

Yesterday: I got an unexpected phone call from a new friend, which made my spirits lift.

I Will Never Leave You

another one of my current fave songs, theme song from Green Rose, koreanovela pa rin..

I will never leave you
Erik Santos

You are safe here in my arms
Never fear I'll be beside you
Feel my love, touching your soul
Holding you closer as i whisper to you

I will never leave you hold on tight
Promise to stay forever by your side
I will never leave you promise i
Stay forever i will never leave you behind

Stay with me and you will see
I will be the one who been dreaming
I won't hurt the heart that you've given
And never be wounden in my arms i promise

I will never leave you hold on tight
Promise to stay forever by your side
And i will always love you promise i
Stay forever i will never leave you behind

And every moment, every minute, every hour of my life
I intend to live my whole life with you
I will be your home and live the same forever in my arms
And will make it through

I will never leave you hold on tight
Promise to stay forever by your side
I will never leave you promise i
Stay forever i will never leave you behind......

( hold on tight promise to stay forever by your side )
I'll be with you... whenever, whenever, whenever..
( and i will never leave you promise i )
Promise i stay forever
I will never leave you behind....

You are safe here in my arms
'coz i will never leave you
Leave you behind.....

ive been looking for this song for ages, this is the theme song of Ch.2's Koreanovela "Save the Last Dance for Me"

Give My Love (English Version) - Edward Chun

When I look in your eyes I can see that you
Want to be with me but you're so scared
And i don't know waht to say or do
But the tears keep falling from your eyes
And I know that
Times won't change my love
And I can't do nothing to keep you

Oh, I'll give my love oh when I hold you tight
Give my love through kisse oh so bright
And you know that I can't change my love
Take my love all through the night

As the hours pass away
You thing that love ain't here to stay
Feel a beat from your chest
But you don't give doubt a moment's rest
You dream the future and all you see is dark
Listen to your heart baby, the truth will set sparks

Now I'll give my love oh when I hold you tight
Give my love through kisse oh so bright
And you know that I can't change my love
Take my love all through the night

Now I'll give my love oh when I hold you tight
Give my love through kisse oh so bright
And you know that I can't change my love
Take my love all through the night

I'll give my love oh when I hold you tight
Give my love through kisse oh so bright
And you know that I can't change my love
Take my love all through the night

I Need You

I Need You
Leann Rimes

I don’t need a lot of things
I can get by with nothing
Of all the blessings life can bring
I’ve always needed something
But I’ve got all I want
When it comes to loving you
You’re my only reason
You’re my only truth

I need you like water
Like breath, like rain
I need you like mercy
From heaven’s gate
There’s a freedom in your arms
That carries me through
I need you

You’re the hope that moves me
To courage again
You’re the love that rescues me
When the cold winds, rage
And it’s so amazing
’cause that’s just how you are
And I can’t turn back now
’cause you’ve brought me too far

I need you like water
Like breath, like rain
I need you like mercy
From heaven’s gate
There’s a freedom in your arms
That carries me through
I need you
Oh yes I do

I need you like water
Like breath, like rain
I need you like mercy
From heaven’s gate
There’s a freedom in your arms
That carries me through
I need you
Oh yes I do
I need you
I need you

buhay talaga..

haay life.. i dunno.. wasnt feeling well for days, dami kasing nagkalat na virus, and unfortunately, nakasalo ako, kaya ang bigat ng katawan ko. lucky for me kasi kahit ganito ang pakiramdam ko e ok naman ang takbo ng business, daming orders :) kaya lang, last night, my cellphone was snatched when i was in the bus. i was seated on the 2nd row near the door and this guy, pababa sya e hinablot cp ko at bumaba na. maybe i was just super tired, like i was feeling these past days, kaya wala yung presence of mind ko. thinking it over, ang daming boo-boos kaya nagtagumpay ang walanghyang yun.

1. i wasnt holding my cp on both hands, hawak nung isang kamay ko yung payong at pambayad sa bus. pero dati rati e carry ko naman hawakan pa rin ng both hands ang cp kahit ganun ang situation

2. i forgot to shout. hindi nya agad nahablot yung cp, and if i had the presence of mind to shout, the guy seating in front of me might have blocked his way.

3. pinipilit kong hawakan both ang cp cover at cp ko in one hand while texting. nung inagaw, madulas yung cp kasi yung tela yung nasa ilalim na syang nakadikit sa palad ko

lesson learned? madami, sobrang dami.. haay.. what a time na mawalan ng cp, kelangang makabili na ako within this weekend at mahirap magdeliver ng pabango ng walang cp :(

it's been awhile since i updated this blog. you might ask what's keeping me busy? well, aside sa tambak na work dito, ito ang pinagkakaabalahan ko :)

sis ivy had tagged me, at di ko pa nasasagot.. sowi po... well, here goes (sana lang tama tanda ko, hehehe

what i do when im stressed out

when will i be able to say this? *sigh*

The Search is Over
Survivor

How can I convince you what you see is real
Who am I to blame you for doubting what you feel
I was always reachin', you were just a girl I knew
I took for granted the friend I have in you
I was living for a dream, loving for a moment
Taking on the world, that was just my style
Now I look into your eyes
I can see forever, the search is over
You were with me all the while
Can we last forever, will we fall apart
At times it's so confusing, these questions of the heart
You followed me through changes and patiently you'd wait
Till I came to my senses through some miracle of fate
I was living for a dream, loving for a moment
Taking on the world, that was just my style
Now I look into your eyes
I can see forever, the search is over
You were with me all the while
Now the miles stretch out behind me
Loves that I have lost
Broken hearts lie victims of the game
Then good luck it finally struck
Like lightning from the blue
Every highway leading me back to you
Now at last I hold you, now all is said and done
The search has come full circle
Our destinies are one
So if you ever loved me
Show me that you give a damn
You'll know for certain
The man I really am
I was living for a dream, loving for a moment
Taking on the world, that was just my style
Then I touched your hand, I could hear you whisper
The search is over, love was right before my eyes

my bestfriend's in a mess.. what will i do to help her? maybe, im partly to blame coz im not there when she needed me.. i hope i can do something to help her, but i dont know how..
seriously funny

i never thought that a serious post from a comic person like me can make me laugh. i expected the reactions that it had brought out, but i never thought that this friend of mine (not for whom the post was "intended" to) knows me this much, and im happy for it :D

Posted (in ascii.org's thread "A message to your loved one"): Wed Jul 06, 2005 9:12 am

to a good friend..

i wanted to say this to you but dont have the guts to say it straight, so i'll use this chance to say it..

im sorry coz there might be times that i had offended you, but i didnt mean to do it. its just my way of self-protection.

i thank you for being understanding and patient with me. you dont know how much i really appreaciate it.

even if i sometimes dont show it, i truly care for and about you.

kantahan muna

kanta muna...

Kanlungan

Chorus:
Pana-panahon ang pagkakataon
Maibabalik ba ang kahapon?

Natatandaan mo pa ba
Nang tayong dal’wa ang unang nagkita?
Panahon ng kamusmusan
Sa piling ng mga bulaklak at halaman
Doon tayong nagsimulang
Mangarap at tumula

Natatandaan mo pa ba
Inukit kong puso sa punong mangga
At ang inalay kong gumamela
Magkahawak-kamay sa dalampasigan
Malayang tulad ng mga ibon
Ang gunita ng ating kahapon

Refrain 1:
Ang mga puno’t halaman
Ay kabiyak ng ating gunita
Sa paglipas ng panahon
Bakit kailangan ding lumisan?

[Repeat Chorus]

Ngayon ikaw ay nagbalik
At tulad ko rin ang iyong pananabik
Makita ang dating kanlungan
Tahanan ng ating tula at pangarap
Ngayon ay naglaho na
Saan hahanapin pa?

Refrain 2:
Lumilipas ang panahon
Kabiyak ng ating gunita
Ang mga puno’t halaman
Bakit kailangang lumisan?

[Repeat Chorus]
[Repeat Refrain 2]
[Repeat Chorus]

Artist : YASMIEN KURDI
Song : I KNOW

I don't need to own a fancy car
To drive with you around the city
I don't need to live in a palace like house
A simple home is enough for me

I don't need much
Only your attention
A hand to hold
To make me feel that i am not alone

I know
With you my life is worth living
I know
With you my life is gonna be just fine
I know
With you each day begins with a smile

I don't really have to worry
If some things won't workout for me
I don't really have to bother
Just as long as you're here with me

I don't need much
Only your affection
To see me through
To make me feel that i am not alone

I know
Together we can make our dreams come true
I know
That through the years we won't be growing old
I know
Counting stars won't be so hard to do

There will be our lowest times
But at the end of the tunnel shines
Our love for each other never fails
Baby i just know

Baby, I just know
I know
I know...

I don't need much
Only your affection
To see me through
To make me feel that i am not alone

maulang martes ng umaga.. dahil kay bagyong emong.. nakikisama ata sa mood ko.. sheez.. its all in the mind, di dapat magtagal sa maghapon ang mood na ito

Monday, July 04, 2005

strike two

After my three months stay here in Universal Motors Corp, naglunch out kami kanina at Mr. Choi's Restaurant in Walmart. ang sarap ng food lalo na at P100 lang ang share namin kahit inabot ng P1500 ang bill namin.

*lol*
a very busy week

Thursday, June 23, 2005

"Why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves up again."

this is my favorite lines from Batman Begins.

i had also watched Mr & Mrs Smith, and like True Lies e aliw din ako sa kanya :D actually, mas aliw pa ako sa kanya kesa True Lies, hehehe :D

mga naka-line up na papanoorin ko: Stephen Speilberg's War of the Worlds which will be showing on June 29, The Fantastic Four which is due first week of July and of course, Harry Potter na pinakita na ang trailer sa Batman.

~~~~~~~
kakaloka, buti pa si Ivy, nakapagpost ng comment, ako e nde ko maopen yung comments *lol* thanks for dropping by :) i'll try to update this lagi :D
~~~~~~

i attended a friend's wedding yesterday which was officiated by Bro. Arnel Tumanan in Central Temple, and it was very inspiring.

Love Moves In (Mysterious Ways)
by Julia Fordham

Who'd have thought
This is how the pieces fit?
You and I
Shouldn't even try making sense of it

I forgot
How we ever came this far
I believe we had reasons
but I don't know what they are
So blame it on my heart, oh

Love moves in mysterious ways
It's always so surprising
When love appears over the horizon
I'll love you for the rest of my days
But still, it's a mystery
How you ever came to me
Which only proves
Love moves in mysterious ways

Heaven knows
Love is just a chance we take
We make plans
But then love demands a leap of faith

So hold me close
And never let me go
'Cause even though we think we know
which way the river flows
That's not the way love goes, no

Love moves in mysterious ways
It's always so surprising
When love appears over the horizon
I'll love you for the rest of my days
But still, it's a mystery
How you ever came to me
Which only proves
Love moves in mysterious ways

Like the ticking of the clock
two hearts beat as one
But I'll never understand
the ways it's done

Love moves in mysterious ways
It's always so surprising
When love appears over the horizon
I'll love you for the rest of my days
But still, it's a mystery
How you ever came to me
Which only proves
Love moves in mysterious ways
Love moves in mysterious ways

naaliw ako sa mga blogskins, but i think i'll settle with this one for now ;)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
had an a-ok dinner yesternight. nameet ko na rin si mart at last! though nde kagandahan ang service ng aming nakainan (super bowl glorietta), ay bumawi na lang kami sa bonding at tawanan :D
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

makes sense?

life is really full of twists. funny how i used to move on from a failed relationship, and how i realized now that i can truly, really laugh about it. and in the event, i realized that i am now trying to move on from a love that never was mine... haay naku.. nasan na kaya ang prince charming ko? wag na sana magpacharming pa sa iba at naiinip na ako :(

"All things happens for a purpose"

I know that, what's happening now has its purpose. Alam ko na nga na part ng purpose na yun ay para makilala kita lalo, malaman ko for what you really are, and I'm thankful for that. Kaya lang, natatakot ako. Parang may domino effect ata ito, and I wish na matapos na ito at wag ng lumaki pa.

one of my fave songs

LOST IN SPACE LYRICS
Music: tucker/laws
lyrics: tucker
Artist: Lighthouse Family

Sometimes I get tired of this me first attitude
You are the one thing that keeps me smiling
That’s why I’m always wishing hard for you

’cause your life shines so bright
I don’t feel no solitude
You are my first star at night
I’d be lost in space without you

And I’ll never lose my faith in you
How will I ever get to heaven, if I do

Feels just so fine
When we touch the sky me and you
This is my idea of heaven
Why can’t it always be so good

But it’s alright, I know you’re out there
Doing what you’ve gotta do
You are my soul satellite
I’d be lost in space without you

And I’ll never lose my faith in you
How will I ever get to heaven, if I do

And I’ll never lose my faith in you
How will I ever get to heaven, if I do

And I’ll never lose my faith in you
And I’ll never lose my faith in you

Life Cycles

from an email sent by my bro, a very inspiring one, talagang nakakarelate ako

Life cycles

One always has to know when a stage comes to an end.

If we insist on staying longer than the necessary time, we lose the happiness and the meaning of the other stages we have to go through.

Closing cycles, shutting doors, ending chapters - whatever name we give it, what matters is to leave in the past the moments of life that have finished.

Did you lose your job? Has a loving relationship come to an end? Did you leave your parents' house? Gone to live abroad? Has a long-lasting friendship ended all of a sudden? You can spend a long time wondering why this has happened. You can tell yourself you won't take another step until you find out why certain things that were so important and so solid in your life have turned
into dust, just like that.

But such an attitude will be awfully stressing for everyone involved: your parents, your husband or wife, your friends, your children, your sister, everyone will be finishing chapters, turning over new leaves, getting on with life, and they will all feel bad seeing you at a standstill.

None of us can be in the present and the past at the same time, not even when we try to understand the things that happen to us. What has passed will not return: we cannot for ever be children, late adolescents,sons that feel guilt or rancor towards our parents, lovers who day and night relive an affair with someone who has gone away and has not the least intention of coming back.

Things pass, and the best we can do is to let them really go away. That is why it is so important (however painful it may be!) to destroy souvenirs, move, give lots of things away to orphanages, sell or donate the books you have at home. Everything in this visible world is a manifestation of the invisible world, of what is going on in our hearts - and getting rid of certain memories also means making some room for other memories to take their place.

Let things go. Release them. Detach yourself from them. Nobody plays this life with marked cards, so sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. Do not expect anything in return, do not expect your efforts to be appreciated, your genius to be discovered, your love to be understood.
Stop turning on your emotional television to watch the same program over and over again, the one that shows how much you suffered from acertain loss: that is only poisoning you, nothing else.

Nothing is more dangerous than not accepting love relationships that are broken off, work that is promised but there is no starting date, decisions that are always put off waiting for the "ideal moment." Before a new chapter is begun, the old one has to be finished: tell yourself that what has passed will never come back. Remember that there was a time when you could live without that thing or that person - nothing is irreplaceable, a habit is not a need. This may sound so obvious, it may even be difficult, but it is very important.

Closing cycles. Not because of pride, incapacity or arrogance, but simply because that no longer fits your life. Shut the door, change the record, clean the house, shake off the dust.

Stop being who you were, and change into who you are.

a nice read sent by my kuya, this reminds us to take chances in life and live life to the fullest

The Secret of Life Is to Get On Board

By Mary Ann Bailey

One of this year's box office hits was the movie, Polar Express. It's a wonderful story about the power of believing.

It is Christmas Eve and a little boy waits in his bed hoping to hear the bells of Santa's sleigh. As he anxiously waits for the reindeer to appear, a mysterious train pulls up in front of his house and the conductor invites him on board. The train is the Polar Express, and it is headed to the North Pole.

As the story unfolds, we learn that, "It doesn't matter where the train is going. What is important is deciding to get on." It is a gentle reminder to us all of how important it is to believe and follow our dreams.

Standing on the Platform
How many trains have you let go by in your life because you were uncertain of where they were going? How often have you found yourself standing on the station platform watching trains come and go, trying to decide which one was the right one for you? There you stand, frozen in indecision, as the world passes you by.

In order to keep growing and learning, we need to keep our lives moving. Water that doesn't run becomes stagnant, and the same is true of our lives. We need to be willing to try new things and be open to new experiences. We also need to trust that the process of life will take us to where we want to go if we remain aware and take advantage of the possibilities and opportunities that are constantly being put in front of us.

Jen was in the process of finding a new job. She was a college professor who had been recently laid off. She had been in education for a while, and although she had several other professional interests, she was having a difficult time actually visualizing herself in any other field.

As Jen stood on the station platform, the only trains that she felt comfortable boarding were the ones that were heading toward the academic world. But is that where she truly wanted to go? On the other hand, the trains that were headed in different directions were too scary to board. So, she felt completely stuck, unable to move in any direction.

Getting on Board
Jen soon realized that taking any train would serve her better than just sitting on the platform, so she took a leap of faith and decided to board the next train that came along. This train took her to an informational interview with the head of local environment group. Environmental issues had always been something that interested her, but she had never envisioned it as a profession. The interview went very well. Jen immediately connected with the director, and she came away with an extensive list of people and organizations to call for further information and possible job opportunities.

This experience bolstered Jen's sense of adventure, so she decided to jump on the next train that came by. This train was headed to a job interview at a local college. The position sounded promising and Jen certainly had all the qualifications. So, she boarded the train with great confidence, only to find at the end of the ride that education really didn't interest her anymore.

The interview had gone well. They asked her back, but it had become clear to Jen during the interview process that she no longer wanted to work in the college setting. The passion and excitement that she once had felt was gone. It was time to move on to whatever her next career path might be.

There is No Wrong Train
It could be argued that Jen had boarded the wrong train because it didn't end up taking her where she wanted to go. Yet, had she not gotten on that train, she would have always have had questions about whether or not she should leave education. Now she knows, and she can pursue other interests with her full and focused attention.

It will take some time for her to sort out exactly what it is that will rekindle her passion. But she knows something is out there waiting for her; and she is excited about all the possibilities and the process of creating a totally new career path. All she has to do is to hang on to her willingness to take a risk and step off the platform.

The answers we seek are not always right in front of us. We sometimes have to take a longer and more circuitous route than we would like to reach our destination. Our journey may require many trains; and if we hold ourselves back from boarding even one of the trains on our route, we may never truly reach our goal.

So, the next time a train comes your way, jump on board and take advantage of all the things you would have missed had you let it go by.

"Even if you are on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there."
--Will Rogers

"..you know how important you are in my life.."

Oh yes, I do now. I am important when you need me. It just so happens that I love myself more now so I'm sorry for you.

You'll be safe here

It's been a while since I last updated my blog, and finally, I had brought myself to fix and update this, heheeh..

anyway, here's my fave song now.. kanta muna tayo

You'll be safe here
Rivermaya
(words and music: rico blanco)

Nobody knows
Just why we're here
Could it be fate
Or random circumstance
At the right place
At the right time
Two roads intertwine

And if the universe conspired
To meld our lives
To make us
Fuel and fire
Then know
Where ever you will be
So too shall i be

Chorus:

Close your eyes
Dry your tears
'coz when nothing seems clear
You'll be safe here

From the sheer weight
Of your doubts and fears
Weary heart
You'll be safe here

Remember how we laughed
Until we cried
At the most stupid things
Like we were so high
But love was all that we were on
We belong

And though the world would
Never understand
This unlikely union
And why it still stands
Someday we will be set free.
Pray and believe

Chorus:

When the light disappears
And when this world's insincere
You'll be safe here
When nobody hears you scream
I'll scream with you
You'll be safe here

Save your eyes
From your tears
When everything's unclear
You'll be safe here

From the sheer weight
Of your doubts and fears
Wounded heart

When the light disappears
And when this world's insincere
You'll be safe here

When nobody hears you scream
I'll scream with you
You'll be safe here

In my arms
Through the long cold night
Sleep tight
You'll be safe here

When no one understands
I'll believe
You'll be safe,
You'll be safe
You'll be safe here
Put your heart in my hands
You'll be safe here

di ko talaga hilig gumawa ng new year's resolution, but i'll try to make one for this year..

* engage in fitness activities (exercise, sports)
* enhance my artistic side (meron ba ako nun?)
* set my priorities and choose my friends more carefully

i was planning to make a year-ender post pero mukhang malabo na atang matupad iyun, dahil mahirap magcompose pag nasa netcafe ka lang.. howell.. ang masasabi ko lang, this year has been a colorful one. maraming nangyari, maraming pagsubok, marami ring natutunan. from friendship to love to family relationship, ang daming nangyari. maging sa mga pagtupad ng tungkulin.

new year's wish ko, sana the coming year will be a fruitful one, at sana ay patuloy ang patnubay at paggabay ng Ama. sana rin, dumating na ang tugon sa panata ko sa darating na taon.

new year's resolution ko? i'll try to make my room clatter-free, para di na kami magtatalo ni mom.

Monday, December 13, 2004

it's been awhile since i had updated my blog.. what's the latest? well.. i had told my supervisor that i won't be staying after my contract ends on january 31. my team manager asked me why i'm leaving. duh.. sya pa yung nagtanong.. anyway, i ask her if she wants me to be frank. then i told her that if the company can't give me internet access, which has the same cost to the company, whether we use it or not, what more if i asked for something monetary like salary or benefits. she then goes on the internet issue, saying that they are honing me to be this and that.. oh whatever.. then i said that that is just one of the reasons. the other is that the company doesn't offer any benefits for parents and my priority is my mom. this is just another way of putting what i really felt about the company. that, even though they are an international manufacturing company, their compensation are not that competitive compared to another companies, and that i can find another company that will give me the same, if not a better, compensation. this, i voiced out to our HR manager when he approached me. my supervisor once told me that company relationship should be give and take. i think i had given enough and they had taken enough. where is the counterpart of the package?

A Man's looks..

When a man looks at you in a different way, dont assume anything. Never assume anything with a man unless clearly and directly spoken. It may not mean that he likes you, rather, he sees something he needs that you may be able to give, like contacts or information.

Mumu Day

i dont know if what i see is real, or my mind or eyes is playing tricks on me, or maybe, the reflection of the light did it. i was planning to take a picture of the view outside my hotel room, and remembered it on Tuesday, my 2nd morning in Thailand. I took my cam and went to my window. Nothing worth taking, but i still decided to take a picture of it. When i focused my camera, there's a ghost like figure standing below, but when i removed the camera, there was nothing. howeelll.. must be the light. still, i prayed hard and wasnt that comfortable with the room anymore. buti na lang at 2 tulog na lang ako d2, hehehe...

Thailand adventure

First Step at Thailand

Arrived at NAIA past 12 noon. Texted my 2 bestbuds, si sunget, my kuya here, ana & da king, and ganda that i'll be leaving. Boarded the plane (Thai Airways flight TG 621) around 130pm. The plane took off around 230pm, a few minutes late of the scheduled departure. During the 3-hour flight, what i did is took pictures of the land and the clouds, eat, talk to my boss, eat, watch TV, watch the clouds, and went to the toilet before landing (syemps, para maexperience ko rin ang toilet sa plane, wehehehe)

We arrived 430pm, Thai time, which is 1hr late of Phil time. Syempre, minus the barilan, hehehe. We took a bus to the departure area.

We arrived at Siam City Hotel, a few minutes before 6pm. Oh, before i forgot, we changed our currency at the airport. Peso to baht is .50, kakagulat, grabe. Around 630p, (Thai Time), we went to Pantip, it's a mall where IT stuff are sold. My boss asked or rather verified directions with the hotel guard on how to get there. The guard said we should turn right at the corner, but my boss said that they turned left before so we followed his memory. Unfortunately, I wasnt able to buy what I wanted kc mahal din ang price d2, mas mahal pa pag kinonvert to peso.

We ate dinner at KFC, and took a tax back to the hotel. The flagdown here is Bt35. Arrived at the hotel a few minutes before 10pm, pinas time. Finished accounting the day's events a few minutes before 11pm, pinas time.

Sorry if I confuse you with time zones, i still didnt adjust my watch to Thai time. Breakfast tomorrowat 7am, Thai time, need to be on the way to the office at 8am, Thai time. Gudnyt blog

wednesday, nov3
im already in the office at 6am.. magdedeploy kami ng project namin from our server to our singapore server (thru FTP at pcanywhere lang, sayang nga at di kelangang pumunta dun sa site e Laughing )

after lunch, super bc na ako dahil umalis na yung kasama ko nung 9am to attend to his medical requirements sa new employer nya, sinabihan ako ng net admin na pinatatanggalan daw ako ng net access ng team manager namin. hwaaattt!!! Shocked e di sige, wala naman akong magagawa, di ba? hmpf!

around 3pm, tumawag ang project manager namin na nasa singapore that time para maitest yung deployment namin at para na rin sa meetings ng iba pang projects..

sir: ano balita jan?
me: ok pa po ako.. ay, syanga pala, heto ang balita, tinanggalan na ako ng net access, mainit-init pa (with a laugh)
sir: sino nagtanggal?
me: si team manager
sir: si team manager? bakit daw?
me: ewan ko po
sir: (with a pause) o sige, wag muna nating isipin yun, yun munang deployment natin asikasuhin natin.
me: ok po.

wish ko lang maayos nga yun.. (not the deployment but my net access Laughing )

saturday, nov6
im now renting here at an icafe sa me metropolis. kelangang magcheck ng emails at syempre, miss ko na itong ascii forum noh.. haaay.. ang hirap talaga ng walang net access, sana ay makabitan na kami ng landline Crying or Very sad

haaaay.. bukas na ang flight ko.. 244pm thai air.. forgot the flight #, di ko dala yung ticket e.. gud for me at maiiba ang ambiance (spell check) ko for the next 4 days.. sana ay maging ok din kalalabasan nitong trip namin..

Tuesday, November 02, 2004

let me rant

haaay naku.. i hate pressures (and who doesn't?) i also hate it when people don't follow schedules, and mess your schedule as well, creating pressure (domino effect huh). today, my officemate was supposed to orient me on what modules he has developed and was maintaining. but unfortunately, he didn't show up today. he can't orient me tomorrow either, because we will be installing the new version of our project, and the installation plan isn't finished yet. worse is if he won't show up again tomorrow. maybe, i'll just bother other team members and ask help on how to install this in the singapore server.

today, i have lots of free time, but i know that starting tomorrow, my sched will be super hectic, because i need to squeeze in what should be done today. howell.. that's life..

Reflection

i heard this song sang in Pinoy Pop Superstar, and somehow reflects me...

Christina Aguilera - Lyrics

Look at me
You may think you see
Who I really am
But you'll never know me
Every day
It's as if I play a part
Now I see
If I wear a mask
I can fool the world
But I cannot fool my heart

Who is that girl I see
Staring straight back at me
When will my reflection show
Who I am inside

I am now
In a world where I
Have to hide my heart
And what I believe in
But somehow
I will show the world
What's inside my heart
And be loved for who I am

Who is that girl I see
Staring straight back at me
Why is my reflection
Someone I don't know
Must I pretend that I'm
Someone else
For all time
When will my reflection show
Who I am inside

There's a heart that must be free to fly
That burns with a need to know the reason why

Why must we all conceal
What we think
How we feel
Must there be a secret me
I'm forced to hide
I won't pretend that I'm
Someone else
For all time
When will my reflection show
Who I am inside
When will my reflection show
Who I am inside

road accidents

You've Made Me Stronger

i walked up this morning with this song in my head...

You've Made Me Stronger
by Regine Velasquez

Is it hard to believe I?m okay
After all, it?s been awhile
Since you walked away
I?m way past crying
Over you finding someone new
You turned my days into nights (days into nights)
But now I see the light
And this maybe a big surprise to you

cause you made me stronger
By breaking my heart
You ended my life
And made a better one start
You taught me everything
From falling in love
To letting go of a lie
Yes, you made me stronger
Baby, by saying goodbye

If you rather believe I?m not over you
Go ahead
There?s nothing wrong with making believe
I know
Cuz I used to pretend you?d come back to me
But time has been such a friend
Brought me to my senses again
And I have you to thanked (I have you to thanked)
For setting me free (for setting me free)

Cuz you?ve made me stronger
By breaking my heart
You ended my life
And made a better one start
You taught me everything
From falling in love
To letting go of a lie
Yes, you?ve made me stronger
Baby, by saying goodbye

Think again
Don?t feel so sorry for me, my friend
Oh, don?t you know
I?m not the one who lose at end (I?m not the one)

Cuz you?ve made me stronger
By breaking my heart
You ended my life
And made a better one start
You taught me everything
From falling in love
To letting go of a lie
Yes, you?ve made me stronger
Baby, by saying goodbye

You ended my life
And made a better one start
You taught me everything
From falling in love
To letting go of a lie
Yes, you?ve made me stronger
Baby, by saying goodbye, goodbye
You?ve made me stronger
Baby, by saying goodbye

napatotohanan dito ang kasabihang "may tenga ang lupa, may pakpak ang balita"...

~~~~~~
naaawang-natatawa ako sa kanya. pero isa lang ang masasabi ko, ayaw kong malagay sa situation nya ngayon. at kung ano man ang pinagdadaanan nya ngayon ay bunga rin ng kagagawan nya
Quote for the Day
"This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you have left behind.....let it be something good."
some Nice Thoughts To Ponder sent by my kuya
When someone lies to you it teaches you that things are not always as they seem. The truth is often far
beneath the surface. Look beyond the masks people wear if you want to know their heart. And remove your own masks to let people know yours.
When someone steals from you it teaches you that nothing is forever. Always appreciate what you have, for you never know when you might lose it. And never, ever take your friends and family for granted because today is the only guarantee you have.
When someone inflicts an injury upon you it teaches you that the human state is a fragile one. Protect and take care of your body as best you can, it's the only thing you are sure to have for as long as you live.
When someone mocks you it teaches you that no two people are alike. When you encounter people who are different from you, don't judge them by how they look or act; instead base your opinion on the contents of their heart.
When someone breaks your heart it teaches you that loving someone does not always mean that person will love you back. But don't turn your back on love because when you find the right person, the joy that one person brings will make up for all the past hurts put together. Times ten.
When someone holds a grudge against you it teaches you that everyone makes mistakes. When you are wronged, the most virtuous thing you can do is forgive the offender without pretense. Forgiving those who have hurt us is the most difficult and courageous thing Man can do.
When a loved one is unfaithful to you it teaches you that resisting temptation is Man's greatest challenge. Be vigilant in your resistance against all temptation. By doing so you will be rewarded with an enduring sense of satisfaction far greater than the temporary pleasure by which you were tempted.
When someone cheats you, it teaches you that greed is the root of all evil. Aspire to make your dreams come true, no matter how lofty they may be. Do not feel guilty about your success, but never let an obsession with achieving your goals lead you to engage in malevolent activities.
When someone ridicules you it teaches you that nobody is perfect. Accept people for their merits and be tolerant of their flaws. Do not ever reject someone for imperfections over which they have no control.
from my kuya..
UNFORGIVENESS
Nothing is as painful,
As unforgiveness to the soul;
A heart that's torn asunder,
With forgiveness becomes whole.
A single kind word spoken
Means more than countless words;
The three words, "I forgive you,"
Are all that need be heard.
To a soul that has been wounded,
Like a healing, cooling balm;
Forgiveness soothes and comforts,
Till at last the soul is calm.
For the soul that seeks forgiveness,
When forgiveness can't be found;
It struggles vainly everyday,
To hear that simple sound.
The power in those three kind words,
Can heal a heart that's broken;
But that heart cannot begin to heal,
As long as words remain unspoken.
Compassion in it's purest sense,
Reside in those three words;
The three words, "I forgive you,"
Are all that need be heard.
another inspiring email from ivy
learning about...
I've learned that, no matter what happens or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. You can't appreciate what's good if there are no bad
I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.As long as you are alive, there's always a second chance
I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as making a "life." Work to live, not live to work
I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.Having pains is not the same as being pain in the ass.
I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.An open heart never lies and decides for the good of everyone involved
I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you. But, if you focus on your family, the needs of others, and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you.
I've learned that, regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life.I know that even if there are times I feel tied, I'll lose my purpose of living if I lose my mom
I've learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone.
I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.Life is about learning, through experiences, be it yours or others
Quotable Quotes
this is an inspiring one
"Aim for success not perfection... Remember that fear always lurks behind perfectionism. Confronting your fears and allowing yourself the right to be human can, paradoxically, make you a far happier and more productive person."
Dr. David Burns
this made me laugh..
"I never make mistakes. I thought I did once, but I was wrong."
a very inspiring email i got from ivy, thanks very much sis :)
PRAISE GOD FOR THE CLOSED DOORS
We need to learn to thank the Lord for closed doors as we do an open door.
The reason God closes doors is because He has not prepared anything over there for us. If he didn't close the wrong door we would never find our way to the right door. Even when we don't realize it, God directs our paths through the closing and opening of doors.
When one door closes, it forces us to change our course. Another door closes, it forces us to change our course yet again. Then finally, we find the open door and walk right into our blessing. But instead of praising God for the closed door (which kept our butt out of trouble), we get upset because we "judge by the appearances." And in our own arrogance, or ignorance, we insist that we know what is right.
We have a very present help in the time of need who is always standing guard. Because He walks ahead of us, He can see trouble down the road and HE sets up road blocks and detours accordingly. But through our lack of wisdom we try to tear down the roadblocks or push aside the detour signs.
Then the minute we get into trouble, we start crying "Lord how could this happen to me?"
We have got to realize that the closed door was a blessing. Didn't He say that "No good thing will He withhold from them that love him?"
If you get terminated from your job - don't be down, instead thank God for the new opportunities that will manifest themselves - it might be a better job, or an opportunity to go to school.
If that man or woman won't return your call - it might not be them, it might be the Lord setting up a roadblock (just let it go).
One time a person had a bank he had been doing business with for many years tell him "NO" for a $10,000 loan. The Lord led him to call another bank. That bank approved a $40,000 loan for him at a lower interest rate
than his own bank had advertised.
I'm so grateful, for the many times God has closed doors to me, just to open them in the most unexpected places.
"The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way." - Psalm 37:23.
The Mountain top is glorious, but it is in the Valley that I will grow!
Always Remember God gives you . . .
Enough Happiness to keep you Sweet
Enough Trials to keep you Strong Enough
Enough Sorrows to keep you Human
Enough Hope to keep you Happy
Enough Failure to keep you Humble
Enough Success to keep you Eager
Enough Friends to give you Comfort
Enough Wealth to meet your Needs
Enough Enthusiasim to make you look Forward
Enough Faith to banish depression, and
Enough Determination to make each day a better day than the last
Life must be lived forward ... but can only be understood backwards ...
haaaay naku.. tinopak cell ko at nabura lahat ng messages ko :( in a way, mabuti na rin siguro ito para clean start na talaga, me 2 msgs pertaining to him pa kasing naiwan dun, na nabura na ngayon
just want to share an inspiring email i received about work and us, workers
WORK and YOU
FIRST:
Don't get the idea that you are ATLAS, carrying the world on your shoulder. The world would go on even without you. Don't take yourself so seriously.
SECOND:
Tell yourself that you like your work. Then it will become a pleasure, not a drudgery. Perhaps you do not need to change your job. Change yourself, and your work will seem different.
THIRD:
Plan your work-work your plan. Lack of system produces that "I'm swamped" feeling.
FOURTH:
Don't try to do everything at once. That is why time is spread out. Operate on what wise advice from the BIBLE. "This one thing I do". (One part at a time, we can accomplish any goal set for ourselves. Today, I will do one small task that will contribute toward the achievement of a life goal.)
FIFTH:
Get a correct mental attitude. Think a job is hard and you will make it hard. Think it easy, and it will tend to become so.
SIXTH:
Become an expert in your work. It is always easier to do a thing right.
SEVENTH:
Practice being relaxed. Easy always does it. Don't press or strain.
EIGHTH:
Do not put off until tomorrow that you can do today. It only makes tomorrow's job harder. It piles up on you. Keep your work on schedule.
NINTH:
At the start of everyday, PRAY about your work. You will get some of your best ideas that way.
TENTH:
Take along your "UNSEEN PARTNERS". It is surprising the load He will take off you. GOD is as much home in offices and shops as in churches. He knows more about your business than you do....
two not so good things happened today..
first, the admin talked to me again (buti na lang nde yung head dahil mejo mataray yun) to tell me that i'm one of the top 10 net users. o divah, bongga. wala ba akong medal? wehehehe :D
second, i've talked to a very inconsiderate and bossy lady, and to think that her work and position requires her to be service-oriented, sheez..
this song is dedicated to and best describes switty. good luck girl!
How Did You Know
INTRO
I remember so well
The day that you came into my life
You asked for my name
You had the most beautiful smile
My life started to change
I'd wake up each day feeling alright
With you right by my side
Makes me feel things will work out just fine
CHORUS
How did you know
I needed someone like you in my life
That there's an empty space in my heart
You came at the right time in my life
I'll never forget
How you brought the sun to shine in my life
And took all the worries and fears that I had
I guess what I'm really trying to say
It's not everyday that someone like you comes my way
No words can express how much I love you
Repeat Chorus
Friday, September 03, 2004
this is a song i heard when i woke up this morning, and somehow, reflects my outlook in life
Smile
Rod Stewart
Smile
Though your heart is aching
Smile
Even though it's breaking
When there are clouds
In the sky,
You'll get by
If you smile
Through your fear and sorrow
Smile
And maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun
Come shining through
For you
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear
May be ever so near
That's the time
You must keep on trying
Smile
What's the use of crying?
You'll find that life
Is still worth-while
If you just smile
Smile
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear
May be ever so near
That's the time
You must keep on trying
Smile,
What's the use of crying?
You'll find that life
Is still worth-while
If you just smile
Keep on smiling
Oh yeah
Smile
Never, never, never stop smile
Smile
